I first heard about the Signature Model a few months before the 2008 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. I was disappointed to hear that Buffalo Brothers, the store I most often frequent, was only going to get the sunburst finish displayed at the NAMM Show. While at the NAMM Show, I checked it out but could not hear it very well in the very busy hall.
While browsing at the Martin Guitar Night at Buffalo Brothers on January 21, I played the Eric Clapton in a much quieter atmosphere and was quite impressed with the balance and tone of the guitar. So, even though I prefer a natural finish, I decided to get the guitar.
