Almost half a year has passed since I received this instrument and I still give it a thorough look each time I open the case. The redwood top sends shivers down my spine! And the straight, tight grain back is simply breathtaking! After I spend several minutes just gazing upon it, I finally get down to playing and it engulfs me and transports me into its world. It has grown more responsive to a light touch and has a lovely dynamic range. I look forward to the music to come.The following is my announcement written on August 14,2004.
This Brazilian Rosewood guitar is the first Cathedral to be built without a cutaway. It is also the first guitar Kevin Ryan has built with a Redwood top. This guitar has a large presence. It projects well and has warm trebles.
